Mzuzu is a city in northern Malawi. It’s a gateway to Lake Malawi and the fishing village of Nkhata Bay, both to the east. To the south, forested Viphya Plateau has abundant birdlife and many trails. To the north, Nyika National Park is home to leopards, lions and elephants. Nearby, floodplains and woodlands characterize Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve, which shelters buffalo and kudu, plus hippos in Lake Kazuni.
